Making a Difference:

Our Community and Charity Outreach

At F.B and sons, we believe in giving back to our community and supporting those in need. That's why we actively participate in various charitable initiatives and events that benefit the local community. One of the organizations we support is St. Mary's Hospice where we assist with events and the annual tree-cycling after Christmas. Additionally, we regularly donate materials to charities and schools to support their projects and encourage the next generation of gardeners.

We are proud to support the Deelands Community Garden, where we volunteer our time, materials and expertise to help enhance the area and make it a more enjoyable place for everyone to enjoy.

Our chosen charity for 2023 is Newstarts; they provide help to low income families and operate a foodbank, providing much-needed support to those in our community.

We are proud to play a role in making a positive impact in our community, and will continue to support these organizations and others in the future.

St Mary's Hospice

At Birmingham St Mary's Hospice, our patients, and their families and loved ones come first. We take care beyond the hospice itself, reaching out to every part of the community.

Every day, we support and care for more than 500 people living with life-limiting illnesses, but estimate that this is only 50% of the people who need our services. It costs over £8million each year to run Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice. That’s £21,552 a day, £898 per hour, and £15 every minute.

Every penny we raise enables vital care, compassion and comfort to be available to more people whenever and wherever they need it.

One of the organizations we support is St. Mary's Hospice where we assist with events and the annual tree-cycling after Christmas.

Deeland's Community Garden

The garden has been a real community effort with local volunteers supported by the Trident Group coming together to enrich the local community by creating a garden that can be used by all.

Calling themselves the Rubery Wombles, the group secured funding from Birmingham City Council as part of a programme to build on the success of the Commonwealth Games by boosting local people's wellbeing, sense of community, and encouraging physical activity. The garden not only fostered a sense of community but will also be used as a community orchard with donations from Thatcher's cider of plants and apple trees, the volunteers also grow lots of vegetables meaning that local people can access free fruit and veg throughout the year.

We are proud to support the Deeland's Community Garden, providing not only materials, but also our time and expertise to help this community space thrive

2023 Charity - Newstarts

We have chosen NewStarts as the Charity we are supporting this Year.

NewStarts is an exciting Christian community re-use social enterprise, based in Bromsgrove, north Worcestershire, whose passion is to help people overcome the challenges and disadvantages that shape their lives and in doing so show them the love of God. Our core activity is providing free furniture, emergency food and household supplies to families and individuals who are in greatest need either on low incomes or in financial crisis.

To help raise funds for the Charity, we are asking you to make a donation however large or small.

We will be running several fundraising events over the year to hit a target of £1000 for this charity
